Ryder Cup
Just miles southeast of Humana’s Louisville headquarters lies beautiful Valhalla Golf Club – designed by legendary golf champion, Jack Nicklaus. Valhalla has hosted a number of top PGA TOUR tournaments and now will host the 2008 Ryder Cup from September 16 to 21.

The Ryder Cup is one of the last great sporting events founded on prestige rather than prize money. It pits the top professionals from the United States against Europe’s top players. This year, Ryder Cup Captain Paul Azinger will lead Team USA, which hopes to win the Cup back from Team Europe – the 2006 winner. The first official match was played in 1927 and has been played every two years since – with a few wartime exceptions.
