Humana offers new Disability product to groups with 2-9 employees

The need for disability coverage is significant for small business, where the sudden absence of a single employee can dramatically disrupt a company's operations. Our latest product enhancement reaffirms Humana's commitment to help small business employers succeed.

Humana's new disability product offers Short Term and Long Term Disability coverage to groups with as few as two employees. Plans are available for quoting on March 1, 2011, with April 1 effective dates of coverage in more than 23 states. More states will be added in the upcoming months.

HumanaDisability Plan Features:

  • Available to groups with two or more eligible employees *
  • Covers active full-time employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week
  • Non-contributory plans (2-9 group size)
  • Contributory plans (6-9 group size)
  • Range of covered benefits including accident, and sickness, (maternity)
  • Benefit level up to 60 percent of the employee's basic monthly earnings
  • Coverage for disabilities incurred on or off the job
  • Age Banded Rates
  • Employee Assistance Program available on LTD

With HumanaDisability, small businesses have a variety of plan options to meet each group's specific needs, easy claims management and administration, and all at an affordable price.

We've also made it easier to enroll, with a product brochure that includes all of the necessary applications for employers and employees. The enrollment materials are available on the Agent portal on Humana.com.
