STD and LTD are enhanced for groups of 10-99

Humana Specialty Benefits have new enhancements to help you tailor products to small employers, giving them more flexibility in their benefits. Now available to quote are:

Voluntary LTD and STD

These voluntary products are now available with the greater of 25 percent participation or a minimum of 10 enrolled lives.

Special Conditions Limitation for LTD only

In approved states, on non-contributory, contributory, and voluntary plans, the special conditions limitation provides the option to limit duration to 24 months for benefits paid due to a disability caused by special conditions.

Business Income Protection for LTD only

In approved states, on non-contributory and contributory plans, the business income protection is an optional provision that provides a benefit to the actual business when a business partner or sole proprietor files for disability. The benefit paid is the lesser of 25 percent of pre-disability earnings or $5,000.

Benefit Maximum for LTD

New maximum benefits amounts have been added and now include $1,000, $1,500, $2,000, and $2,500.

Class Blending for LTD and STD

Available on non-contributory and contributory plans only, class blending provides the option of blending rates when you create a quote in a class scenario. NOTE: Voluntary 2-9 products and STD contributory plans in offsets states will not have this option.
