Personal Care Account PPO
Humana’s Personal Care Account (PCA) plans combine a low-premium, high-deductible PPO with an employer-funded health reimbursement arrangement.
With this plan design, employees have catastrophic coverage and an incentive to look for value in healthcare. |
PCA promotes healthcare consumerism
Humana’s Personal Care Account (PCA) PPO plan gives you a way to reduce your health benefits costs while promoting greater employee involvement in healthcare decision-making. Humana's PCA is based on IRS-approved health reimbursement arrangement guidelines. With a set amount of funds in their “personal” account, members are encouraged to use their money wisely.
How the Personal Care Account PPO Works
- Members use PCA funds for eligible medical expenses, including the deductible, prescription drugs, vision, and dental care.
- Once PCA funds are gone, members satisfy the remaining deductible and coinsurance requirements of the plan.
- Employers don’t have to fund the entire PCA up front. They simply make a deposit and then add more as employees use their funds.
