Healthcare spending account plan

Humana's Personal Care Account (PCA)

Humana's Personal Care Account (PCA) plans give employees an incentive to look for value in healthcare, along with catastrophic coverage.

This plan design combines a low-premium, high-deductible plan - PPO, HMO or POS - with an employer-funded health reimbursement arrangement. Though this is a high-deductible plan, it does not necessarily meets the IRS definition of a "High-Deductible Health Plan" (e.g. integrated medical and pharmacy deductible).

Why offer Humana’s PCA plan?

  • We offer several plan designs, ranging from 100/70 coinsurance to 80/60
  • Employers don’t have to set aside all the cash up front; they simply deposit a percentage of the PCA and then add more as employees use their funds
  • Employers have the option to allow carry-over of unused funds at the end of the plan year and to determine carry-over limits
  • Employees have catastrophic coverage and an incentive to look for value in healthcare

Humana’s network offerings for PCA plans vary by area. Your clients’ options may include:
