Humana signs agreement with Lee Memorial Health System

Humana now provides commercial health benefits to Southwest Florida employers

TAMPA, FL - Feb 28, 2006 - Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) and Lee Memorial Health System announced today that they have reached agreement on a new contract that enables Humana commercial members in Southwest Florida to receive care at Lee Memorial's five area hospitals.

Under the agreement, which takes effect March 1, Humana's commercial health plan members in Southwest Florida will have access to Lee Memorial Health System, for all covered inpatient and outpatient services at its five hospitals - Lee Memorial Hospital, Cape Coral Hospital, HealthPark Medical Center, The Rehabilitation Hospital and The Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida - as well as the system's skilled nursing home, home health services, Lee Physician Group offices and Lee Convenient Care walk-in medical centers.

"This agreement represents an important step in our ongoing commitment to provide Humana members with access to quality health care delivery at one of this community's most respected hospital systems," said Humana Florida Network Development Vice President Rick Doyle.

"We've very pleased our commercial health plan members in Southwest Florida will now have access to the region's outstanding medical centers that are part of Lee Memorial Health System," said Humana Southeast Commercial Operations CEO Craig Drablos, "and equally as important, that we can now offer Southwest Florida companies Humana's innovative health benefit plans."

Anchored by its new contract with Lee Memorial, Humana has established a solid health care provider and physician network in Southwest Florida and will offer consumer-directed health benefit plans to employer groups in Lee and Collier counties.
