Health Link physicians now in-network for Humana health-plan members MEMPHIS, TN - Aug 3, 2006 - Humana-Tennessee (NYSE: HUM) today announced it has significantly expanded its network of providers in Mississippi, by adding Health Link Preferred Provider Organization of Tupelo, Mississippi.
Health Link Preferred Provider Organization includes physicians throughout Mississippi, Northwest Alabama and Tennessee, representing multiple medical specialties. The new contract between Humana and Health Link took effect on August 1, 2006. "We're pleased to broaden our provider network in North Mississippi," said Evans Looney, president of Humana's commercial operations in Tennessee and Mississippi. "Our members will benefit by having expanded choice - with the physicians of Health Link joining Humana's network." "Health Link's new relationship with Humana will provide an attractive option for employers throughout the area for health care coverage for their employee groups," said Gerald Wages, executive vice president for external affairs for North Mississippi Health Services. "The new product, which will be marketed by brokers throughout north Mississippi, as well as Health Link sales representatives, will benefit local companies, as well as companies in other states with offices in the area.
