Flexible Spending Account
Humana makes Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) easy for you to administer and easy for employees to use.
Employees contribute pre-tax money to the healthcare FSA and then use the funds for qualified expenses such as doctor's bills, prescriptions, dental care, and vision care. Humana also offers a dependent care FSA, which allows employees to set aside money for expenses such as childcare and adult day care.
FSA advantages
Tax savings
Since employees fund an FSA with pre-tax money, you benefit because your total payroll costs decrease. That means savings on FICA, state, and federal unemployment taxes related to employee contributions to the FSA. The more your employees contribute, the greater your tax advantage.

FSAs help employees budget and plan for healthcare expenses and encourage them to spend wisely.
Easy to use
Depending on the plan you choose, the HumanaAccessSM Visa® Debit Card allows your employees to pay directly from the healthcare FSA. For the dependent care account, employees simply keep receipts and then file a claim for reimbursement.
Fund the account through the year
Humana's FSA gives employers flexibility in cash flow. Simply deposit a percentage of the FSA elections and then add more as employees use their funds. FSA funds cannot be carried over from year to year, so any remaining funds revert back to the employer after the claims filing deadline.
