Q. What is Humana's policy on pre-existing conditions?
A pre-existing condition clause excludes coverage for pre-existing conditions for as long as 12 months after the effective date. A pre-existing condition can be:
- A condition that required treatment during a certain period before the member's effective date OR
- A condition the member is aware of, even if he or she didn't receive treatment for the condition during the period in question
