Myth 5: Miracle drug "fill-in-the-blank" is the magic bullet for weight loss

The truth: No food on the planet "burns fat." No "miracle pill" will cause long-term weight loss. Sure, some fad diets work in the short term — because they restrict calories — but chances are you'll get tired of being so limited, fall off the wagon, and regain any weight you lost. Plus you could be putting your health at risk by not giving your body all the nutrients it needs.

The best way to lose weight and keep it off is to eat fewer calories and increase your activity level. Eat moderate portions and aim for a balanced eating plan with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Make exercise a part of your life. The "magic bullet" is making an effort and making smart choices every day.
