An independent consultant for Humana, Mitzi R. Krockover, M.D. previously served as the company's Vice President of Women's Health. Before joining Humana, Dr. Krockover was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at UCLA and the founding Medical Director of the Iris Cantor UCLA Women's Health Center. During her tenure, the Center was named one of the top ten women's health centers by Self Magazine and UCLA was named a National Center of Excellence in Women's Health by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Memberships Dr. Krockover is a member of the editorial advisory board of the Journal of the American Medical Association Women's Health Web site and of Medscape.com. She also serves as a member of the Women's Health Task Force of the American Association of Healthcare Plans, the Women's Health Task Force of the Healthcare Leadership Council, the National Association of Medical Communicators and the Board of the Society for Women's Health Research. Media Presence Dr. Krockover shares her knowledge of health issues through appearances on WLKY-TV, the Louisville CBS affiliate. She has also served as a correspondent for the Medical News Network. Dr. Krockover has authored articles for national publications and participated in broadcast news programs on women's health issues. Associations Dr. Krockover is a board-certified internist and a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Women's Association, the National Association of Professionals in Women's Health and the American College of Women's Health Physicians. Awards and Recognition In 1999, Dr. Krockover was awarded the International Emerging Leader in Health Care Award, sponsored by Korn Ferry International and the Health Forum. In 1997, Dr. Krockover was named "Woman of the Year" by the Los Angeles County Commission on Women. |
