Why Choose a Humana Prescription Drug Plan (PDP)?

Your choices are important, and so is stretching your dollar. With Humana's PDPs, we make it easy to choose and use your plan.

Choice of plans

Humana offers three stand-alone PDPs in most areas. "Stand-alone" means they're separate from your Medicare coverage. Stand-alone PDPs let you add drug coverage to your Original Medicare coverage. With our choice of plans, you can find the coverage that fits your needs and your budget.

Extensive pharmacy network

With more than 60,000 national pharmacies in our network, including more than 20,000 independent pharmacies, you're sure to find one near you. You must use network pharmacies, except under non-routine circumstances. Quantity limitations and restrictions may apply.

Prescription mail-order service

With Humana-owned RightSource®, Humana's preferred mail-order prescription delivery service, we bring the pharmacy to you. RightSource may also help reduce your prescription costs. Other pharmacies are available in our network. If you are a member of a qualified State Pharmaceutical Assistance Program, please contact the Program to verify that the mail order pharmacy will coordinate with that Program.

Monthly statement

SmartSummary Rx^® provides a personalized and easy-to-follow update of your prescription drug costs, mailed to you monthly if you had claims for the previous month. The statement also offers tips on how to save on your medicine.

Humana Prescription Drug Plans

Humana offers a range of prescription drug plans to meet the variety of needs you may have. Three different plans are offered in each PDP service area and your options may include:

• Humana Walmart-Preferred Rx Plan (PDP)

  New for 2013, join the Humana Walmart-Preferred Rx Plan and pay only a penny for select generic hypertension drugs. Pay a penny no matter what phase of the plan you’re in, even if you haven’t met your deductible or are in the “donut hole”. View more information on the Humana Walmart-Preferred Rx Plan (PDP).

• Humana Enhanced (PDP)

  If you prefer a prescription drug plan with no deductible, retail pharmacy copays as low as $2, and mail order copays as low as $0, you should explore Humana's Enhanced plan. Plus, there are over 60,000 pharmacies in our national network. View more information on Humana Enhanced (PDP).

• Humana Complete (PDP)

Humana is a Medicare Advantage organization and a stand-alone prescription drug plan with a Medicare contract. Medicare beneficiaries may enroll in the plan only during specific times of the year. Contact Humana for more details. You must continue to pay your Medicare Part B premiums. Limitations, copayments and restrictions may apply.

You may be able to get extra help to pay for your prescription drug premiums and costs. To see if you qualify for getting extra help, call:

• 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227). TTY or TDD users should call 1-877-486-2048, 24 hours a day/7days a week;
• The Social Security Office at 1-800-772-1213 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. TTY or TDD users should call, 1-800-325-0778; or
• Your State Medical Assistance (Medicaid) Office.
