- 5:57 a.m.
- After sleeping for at least seven hours, wake up before your alarm goes off. Sleeping gives your body time to recharge and stimulates growth hormones. This keeps skin glowing and taut. You can't start a beautiful day with dark circles or bags under your eyes. Do a few light stretches to get your heart pumping and prepare you for the day.
- 6:17 a.m.
- It's time for your morning beauty routine. Take a shower. Blot your hair dry and use the cool setting on your blow-dryer. Wash your face and use a moisturizer with vitamins B3, B5, and E, as well as alphahydroxyacids. Brush your teeth for a full two minutes - and don't forget your tongue.
- 7:14 a.m.
- Eat a healthy breakfast. Whole grains, fresh fruit, or a little protein - like egg whites - are all great options. Pop a few supplements too - half a multivitamin and a 600 mg tab of DHA with a full glass of water. Your doctor may recommend taking aspirin each day, too.
- 7:43 a.m.
- Traffic can be stressful - especially if it's your day for the kids' carpool. Use red lights to perfect your posture. Straighten up, pull your shoulders back, push your chest out, and hold your head high. Practicing good posture regularly will leave you with some amazing changes in how you look and feel.
- 8:28 a.m.
- Bring on the day. Map out what you plan to accomplish during the day. Keep it realistic - save what you can't get done for tomorrow.
- 10:02 a.m.
- Take a quick walk to stretch your mind and your muscles. It'll help manage stress levels, too. Follow up your walk with a mid-morning snack. Try green tea and a handful of nuts, or an apple or carrot. When you get back, take in your environment, whether you're at work or home. There's been some research that shows optimal productivity occurs when you're in a 72-degree environment.
- 12:30 p.m.
- Lunch time! Eat a salad topped with a vinaigrette and either salmon or grilled chicken. Had enough greens? Try a bowl of soup, just stay away from the cream-based variety. Even if you're in a rush, eat slowly and deliberately. An exercise routine - like a half-hour walk at lunch - will do wonders for you.
- 3:30 p.m.
- A healthy mid-afternoon snack invigorates you and keeps the afternoon doldrums at bay.
- Bottom line:
- Incorporate these tips into your daily routine so you can spend time focusing on your inner and outer beauty and truly enjoy each day. Come back next month for advice to make your evening beautiful, too.
