Multiyear HumanaAccessSM Card Introduced

HumanaAccess Visa® debit cards now have three-year expiration dates. This includes all cards used for flexible spending accounts (FSAs), personal care accounts (PCAs) and integrated health saving accounts (HSAs).

Instead of expiring or becoming inactive after one year, the cards will now be good for three years. Humana hopes this will increase satisfaction for members, as they will no longer need to activate new cards every plan year or wait for new cards to arrive.

Members will receive new cards, however, if they change plans or if there is a change to any information displayed on the front of the card, such as copayments or subscriber names. In these cases, a new card will be mailed to the member and must be activated.

Since this new multiyear HumanaAccess card will have the same functionality that single-year cards have had, the change should not be noticeable to providers. As always, the card can be used either at the time of the visit for copayments or following the office visit, after Humana has processed a remittance notice. For more information about the functionality of the HumanaAccess card, go to www.humana.com and click on “Providers,” and then “Provider Resource Center.” Then choose the HumanaAccess card link from the menu on the left.

For any questions about the HumanaAccess Visa debit card, call Humana’s spending account administration team at (800) 604-6228.
