New, Improved Web Site for Providers
Providers visiting www.Humana.com
will find a more robust, reorganized Web site that makes it easier
to find the information they need to do business with Humana.
The redesigned provider site, which was introduced
earlier this month (see image, below), is organized in sections
and offers providers and their office staff information and tools
to help them file claims, learn about prescription and health plans
and link to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
(HIPAA) information and resources.

The chart below shows some of the services available
online.

“The redesign is just the first step in transforming
the consumer experience by giving providers the tools that they
need and request,” said Dianna Moore, project manager. Call
your Humana connectivity consultant to ask questions about Web site
services for providers or to discuss training needs.
Self-Service Center Further Enhances Providers’
Web Experience
The Self-Service Center within the provider area on
www.Humana.com
makes it simple and convenient to check information about your Humana-insured
patients within a secure Web environment.
Here’s how to register for access to the Self-Service
Center. The entire process takes 10-15 minutes. TIP: Have your federal
tax identification number available before you start the registration
process. Go to www.humana.com
and do the following:
• Click on “Providers” and “Provider Self-Service
Center.”
• Click on “Register Now” in the “providers
log-in” box at the top right of the page.
• Select “Register/Create a new application” and
click “Next.”
• Print and complete your application
• Have the application signed and witnessed
• Keep a copy of the application for your records
• Mail the signed original application to

Humana will process your application and mail you
a temporary password within seven to 10 business days. Then use
your temporary password to log onto www.humana.com
and set up your personal password. You can also create one for each
of your employees.
The Self-Service Center allows providers to check
patient information and access other services. Some highlights include:
Claims Management
• Check claims status (single claim or multiple claims)
• View remittance advice and download a remittance file
• Submit professional claims to other payers through www.humana.com
(with Humana’s service vendor, ZirMed)
Eligibility and Benefits
• Check eligibility and benefits (individual member or multiple
members)
• View certificates of coverage
• View deductible and dollar amounts applied year to date
Referrals and Authorizations
• Referral inquiry and submission
• View inpatient/outpatient authorizations
• Submit inpatient/outpatient authorizations
