Web-based Claims Will Save Physician Offices Time and Money

Wouldn't it make your job easier to be able to submit and track your claims more efficiently –and do it all with less paperwork? This will be possible at the end of this month with Humana's new Web-based claims submission process.

Humana has partnered with ZirMed, a leading electronic claims management solution provider, to create this new online system. Humana is currently piloting the system with several provider offices, and the results have been great. Online claims submission will be available to all registered provider offices by the end of August. It will be just a click away through Humana's Web site, www.humana.com.

Physicians' office staff will be able to submit individual claims through direct data entry (DDE) or a group of claims through a batch load from their practice management system. This electronic approach can reduce your practice's administrative workload and reduce errors through its immediate editing functionality. And the system's patented claims correction and resubmission logic will make it easy to solve problems and expedite the reimbursement process. Users will be able to access, monitor and work receivables from any location with Internet access, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year – from the office, at home or even while traveling.

To utilize Humana's online claims submission system, all you will need is an Internet connection – Internet Explorer 5.5 or greater and 128-bit encryption. Best of all, the service will be available to providers at no charge; Humana is sponsoring the full cost of the system as part of its overall e-technology strategy.

Ask your electronic commerce coordinator about this new system, or visit www.humana.com for more information. All it takes is a simple registration procedure, and you can be up and running quickly with online claims submission. If you are not registered on www.humana.com, register today so that you are ready for this and other Web-based tools.

Florida physicians and other care providers can already submit individual claims through www.availity.com.

For more information on submitting claims through Availity, Florida providers should contact their electronic commerce coordinator or call 1-800-Availity (1-800-282-4548).
