Exciting Changes are Under Way at
Humana's YourPractice Magazine

Dear Physician and Office Staff:

For starters, we have increased the magazine’s circulation to 285,000 this quarter, making it one of the largest publications of its kind. Coupled with our digital distribution channels, every location that sees Humana-insured patients on a regular basis should now receive a copy of the magazine. This is exciting news because it allows us to deliver more information to more doctors, office managers, hospital executives, billing managers and other medical professionals than ever before.

By packaging all this information in one place, we’ve reduced the letters and faxes that you receive from us, if only a little bit. Yes, you still receive letters and faxes from us, but not nearly as many as you might have.

The changes don’t stop there. Also beginning this month, Humana’s YourPractice will feature the logos of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and the Summer National Senior Games.

I’d like to take a moment to discuss the significance of Humana’s relationship with each of these well-respected, national organizations.

Founded in 1926, MGMA is devoted to continually improving the performance of medical group practice professionals. MGMA’s 21,500 members lead and manage more than 13,500 organizations with 270,000 physicians. MGMA’s members include administrators, CEOs, physicians in management, office managers and many other management professionals.

Humana is proud to have had a relationship with MGMA for many years, but recently committed as a platinum affiliate. This is unique for the health care industry. Humana is the first and, to date, the only health plan to serve as an MGMA platinum affiliate. We feel relationships like these are vital for realizing our commitment to being the easiest payer with which to do business.

Humana also is the title sponsor of the Summer National Senior Games. The National Senior Games Association (NSGA), which oversees the games, is a nonprofit member of the United States Olympic Committee that is dedicated to motivating senior men and women to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Like NSGA, Humana is committed to helping its members live full, healthy and active lives. The 2007 games were an inspiring event held in Louisville, Ky., featuring 12,000 senior athletes, ages 50 to 100. We are planning for another great experience at the 2009 games, which will be held August 1-15, 2009 in Palo Alto, Calif.

We are always mindful of where we spend our sponsorship dollars. In this case, we feel strongly that both these organizations are closely aligned with our company’s mission. One represents our dedication to administrative simplification, while the other models our commitment to health and wellness.

That is why we are so happy to display their logos.

In closing, if you are one of the readers who are receiving Humana’s YourPractice for the very first time, welcome aboard. To the readers who have been with us from the beginning, thank you for continuing to join us.

Sincerely,

Bruce Perkins
