Humana's Transplant Services team will guide them through the entire transplant process--beginning when they become a candidate for transplant all the way through one year after they received the transplant.
What is a transplant evaluation?
A transplant evaluation includes consultations, tests and X-rays ordered by the transplant program doctors for the patient and potential donors before transplantation.
How does a member receive a transplant evaluation referral and who is responsible for coordinating referrals between the doctor and other specialists?
The Transplant Nurses are available at 1-866-421-5663, will provide them with a transplant evaluation referral and ensure a timely coordination of referrals.
What type of help will the Transplant nurses provide?
The Transplant nurse will help coordinate the member's transplant needs, explain their benefits and help with any other transplant issues they may have.
How long will the Transplant nurse work with the member?
The Transplant nurse will work with the member from the initial evaluation up to one year after the transplant.
