Humana and Reader's Digest now offer Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans. The Reader's Digest plans will still offer the same great coverage and service members have come to expect from Humana. There will not be any changes in the service Humana provides.
For health care providers, we want to assure you that these new plans will not impact your contracts, reimbursement or claims payment. Best of all, if you are already contracted for Humana Medicare products, you do not need to take any action; you are already considered a participating provider with Humana's Reader's Digest plans.

What do health care providers need to know about the new Humana Reader's Digest Healthy Living plans?
The Reader's Digest (RD) plans will still offer the same great coverage and service they have come to expect from Humana. There will not be any changes in the service Humana provides. This will not impact health care providers' contracts, reimbursement or claims payment.

Why should health care providers care about these new plans?
Members of the RD plans will have access to additional health and wellness information. They may come in to their provider with some of these materials. MA members will receive the following wallet cards:
- My Doctor's Visit Guide
- My Vital Health Information
- My Personal Pill Guide
Therefore, physicians should be aware that these tools are being delivered to members to help them with their health and well-being through their RD/HUM plan.

How will these plans affect how health care providers do business with Humana?
The plans will not impact how health care providers do business with Humana. Health care providers will continue to submit and process claims, authorizations, etc. in the same way they do today.

How will it affect how they serve their Humana-covered patients?
This will not impact how they serve their Humana-covered patients. If anything, their Humana-covered patients may be more educated with the access these plans provide them to health and wellness content.

- Currently approved in Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Michigan, Iowa, Mississippi, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Wyoming

How can health care providers participate with the Humana Reader's Digest plans?
If a health care provider is already contracted for Humana Medicare PPO and/or HMO products, the health care provider does not need to take any action; he or she is already considered a participating provider with at least one Humana Reader's Digest plan.

Are there any other benefits health care providers may want to know about these plans?
The Humana Reader's Digest Healthy Living plan encourages members to actively participate in their health and well-being. In order to assist members with this, the plan provides health and wellness materials.
All Reader's Digest plan members (MA and Medicare Supplement plans) will receive health bulletins that will provide information on current health and wellness topics such as nutrition, heart health, brain health and pain management.
In addition, MA members will have access to:
- Wallet cards that help members track information about their medications (Personal Pill Guide), questions/issues they want to address with their physician (Doctor's Visit Guide) and a card on which they can list their personal medical history and emergency contact information (Vital Health Information)
- Posters with information on healthy eating/cooking and exercise
- Journal to track their health and well-being activities, screenings, diets, etc.
- Offer for a free health book from the Reader's Digest Healthy Living Library
In addition, Medicare Supplement members will have access to:
- Puzzles and games to keep their brains sharp
- Discounts on a three-book healthy living library
