About URAC Accreditation
As an accrediting organization for healthcare, URAC develops standards with the help of nationwide experts in healthcare – providers, insurers, healthcare organizations, and public interest groups. URAC's accreditation is used to meet state regulatory requirements. URAC was previously known as the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission, but shortened its name to the acronym used today.
