Special Hurricane Updates for Humana Providers
These messages have been updated as of December 15, 2005.
This is a reminder that the Emergency Rules related to Hurricance Katrina and Rita that were put into effect by Commissioner of Insurance Robert Wooley ended at midnight, November 30, 2005. As you know, the Rules addressed a number of operational issues such as referral requirements and claims filing and payment processes.
Beginning December 1, 2005, Humana returned to its normal business practices as outlined in your current contract with Humana. If you have questions, please call us at 1-866-427-7478 or 920-337-5090.
Help Us Reach Hurricane Victims
It is critical that Humana reach Gold Plus members who formerly lived in Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. Tammany or Washington parishes during 2005 regarding their benefits. You can assist us by printing and posting this fact sheet in your office where patients can see it.
