Humana Makes Changes to Home Medical Equipment Provider Network

Humana has established a long-term relationship with Apria Healthcare, making Apria our provider of choice for Humana members' home medical equipment needs, including home oxygen services, CPAP/BiPAP equipment and supplies, home tube feeding and other medical equipment services provided in the home. Apria is also an in-network provider for outpatient negative pressure wound therapy.

Apria has more than 2,000 clinicians on staff, as well as disease-specific and therapy-specific clinical patient management programs. Apria also has established quality programs and soon will be implementing additional services specifically for Humana members.

Please note that Humana's relationship with several home medical equipment providers is being terminated. Impacted Humana members will be informed of this change and encouraged to transition their services to Apria.

How this affects health care providers:

Humana encourages health care providers to consider referring Humana-covered patients who need home oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP equipment and supplies, home tube feeding or other home medical equipment services to Apria Healthcare by contacting their local Apria branch or calling 1-800-962-7742. Humana-covered patients who use Apria for these services and supplies will typically have lower out-of-pocket costs.

Humana's dedicated team of transition coordinators will work with each impacted member, answering questions and handling the arrangements for switching services. If health care providers have impacted patients, the health care provider may receive a request for prescription information from Apria as part of the transition process.
