Health care providers who access secure emails via Humana.com's secure provider website (registration required) will now need to access those messages using a new secure messaging tool. The tool is located in the same area as before. After logging into the secure website, choose "Resources," then "Message Center." There is a one-time registration process to access the new secure messaging tool.
How to log into the new secure messaging tool for the first time:
Humana's new secure messaging tool requires Internet Explorer 7.0 or newer, or a recent version of Firefox, Chrome or Safari.
Health care providers may access the previous secure messaging system until March 31, 2012. To access the previous system, choose the "Existing Secure Messages Access" link on the "Message Center" page. Please note: Messages from the previous system will not be transferred to the new system.
Health care providers who attempt to access a secure message, but have not activated their access to the new secure messaging tool will be directed to a "Not Activated" error screen. The health care provider can then re-enter the personal email address and choose "Submit" to receive another activation email.
If the email address has already been registered on the new secure messaging tool, the health care provider will be directed to an "Email Address in Use" error screen. To access the new secure messaging tool, the health care provider must either log in with the information provided for the previously activated email, or enter a different email account for activation.
