Clinicians and facility administrators who are thinking of making the switch from paper checks to electronic claims payment have two new options as a result of Humana’s recent collaborations with CAQH and J.P. Morgan Chase.
One new option for Humana is electronic funds transfer (EFT) and electronic remittance advice (ERA) enrollment through the CAQH Solution™, EnrollHub™. With this tool, practitioners only need to submit enrollment information to a single site online. CAQH sends the information to Humana and any other payer the practitioner selects. Payers then process the enrollment and begin sending electronic payments to the practitioner’s bank account.
This new option allows practitioners to receive payments more quickly and efficiently by using a Single-Use Accounts (SUA) solution that provides remittance and payment information electronically. If you already accept credit card payments, there is no charge to enroll; however, standard interchange fees apply as negotiated with your merchant bank. In addition to the options listed above, practitioners may continue to enroll directly with Humana for EFT and ERA. With this option, payments are deposited directly into the practitioner’s bank account, and remittance advice may be obtained via a clearinghouse or viewed online at Humana.com (registration required) or Availity.com (registration required).
