This nurse advice line is available to members 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including all holidays.
Humana provides an advice line staffed by nurses who support members who have questions regarding medical conditions, symptoms and treatments. Nurses also help members determine the most appropriate level of care.*
Services provided through this program include guidance as to when to go to the emergency room, to an urgent care facility or to a primary care physician, as well as personal care information.
Eligibility and cost
Member eligibility for this service varies by plan, and it is not available for Puerto Rico residents and those with prescription-drug-only plans. This program is part of eligible members’ medical benefit plans and is provided at no additional cost to the member.
Interpreters are available for members who do not speak English.
To determine whether their plan provides access to the HumanaFirst Nurse Advice Line, members should call the Customer Care number on the back of their Humana member ID card. Those who use a TTY should dial 711.
*Members experiencing a life-threatening emergency should call 911 or their local emergency services provider.
