Federal Employee Health Benefit (FEHB) tobacco cessation program

Humana offers a cessation program for all forms of tobacco use, including cigarettes, snuff and chewing tobacco, for Humana-insured FEHB plan members.

Program overview

The program features cessation products and counseling and includes two attempts to quit per year. Patients may participate in up to four tobacco-cessation counseling sessions of at least 30 minutes each by phone or email.

Eligibility and cost

This program is available at no additional charge to Humana-insured FEHB plan members with commercial fully insured health maintenance organization (HMO) and preferred provider organization (PPO) coverage in:

  • Arizona
  • Colorado
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Kansas
  • Kentucky
  • Louisiana
  • Missouri
  • Ohio
  • Tennessee
  • Texas
  • Puerto Rico

Participants can receive over-the-counter and prescribed medications that are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for tobacco cessation with:

  • No copayments
  • No coinsurance
  • No deductibles
  • No annual or lifetime dollar limits

In order to receive over-the-counter cessation drugs at no charge, patients must obtain a prescription from their physician or other health care professional.
