Humana understands the challenges diverse businesses face. Our Supplier Diversity Mentor-Protégé Program is designed to improve your business’s ability to contract with Humana and our Tier I suppliers.

Launched in 2019, the program’s goal is to encourage relationships with various Humana departments and external partners by overcoming barriers that typically inhibit or restrict the success of diverse-owned, women-owned, LGBTQIA-owned, disability-owned, veteran-owned and small business enterprises.

During the 12 months of the program, participants are paired with Humana leaders for a 1-on-1 mentoring experience. In addition to 1-on-1 mentoring, protégés also participate in mentoring circles that include Humana department leaders who share their subject-area expertise as well as information about how the company functions.

What to expect during the program

The program spans 12 months, starting with orientation—where you’ll meet your Humana Supplier Mentor.

Meet with your Humana Supplier Mentor

You’ll meet with your Humana Supplier Mentor 1-on-1, every other month. In these meetings, you’ll gain insight from your mentor and have the opportunity to get their feedback on your ideas.

Meet with your Mentoring Circle

In the alternating months, you’ll meet in a Mentoring Circle with different Humana department leaders and learn all about their departmental processes.

Graduate from the program

After 12 months, you’ll graduate in front of Humana senior leaders and your Supplier Mentor.
