Ohio Medicaid: Understanding virtual care

We know you can get sick or hurt without warning. When covered and available, virtual care, also called telehealth, can be a great way to see a provider without leaving your home.

Understanding virtual care

Telehealth is the direct delivery of healthcare using audio and/or video. Instead of coming into the office for your appointment, you:

  • Stay at your home or office
  • Use your smartphone, tablet, or computer to see and talk to your healthcare provider/physician

Using telehealth services:

  • Is free
  • Means you don’t have to worry about driving to or from an appointment
