Humana has received several awards for our products, services, and responsible business practices.
For the 5th straight year, Humana received highest recognition from the National Business Group on Health for having one of the best holistic approaches to workforce health and well-being in the nation.
Humana has been honored with Gold status – placing in the 99th percentile – in the American Heart Association’s Workplace Health Achievement Index, recognizing the company’s comprehensive workplace health efforts as among the best in the nation.
In 2017, Humana ranked #3 in the Healthiest 100, a national ranking of companies that proactively contribute to the health of employees through the most effective and innovative cultures of well-being.
Humana has been recognized for six consecutive years as of 2016. Humana ranked 25 out of 75 employers in 2016.
Humana was recognized as one of Affinity Inc Magazine's Top Corporations for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Economic Empowerment in 2015 and 2016 for our diversity and inclusion efforts. Affinity Inc Magazine is committed to the development and success of LGBT businesses and employees. In step with that commitment is an emphasis on the companies in corporate America that have made diverse and inclusive workplaces and supply chains a matter of policy.
Humana was recognized on DiversityInc’s Top 25 Noteworthy Company list due to the enhancements that we have made on our Inclusion & Diversity journey over the past few years.
The Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index report, released each fall, provides an in-depth analysis and rating of large U.S. employers and their policies and practices pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees. For the fifth year in a row, Humana scored a perfect 100 and is deemed a “Best Place to Work” by HRC, signifying Humana's dedication to promoting diversity and fostering inclusion at the workplace
The campaign to celebrate Humana’s 50th Anniversary was awarded a 2012 Gold Quill Award of Merit from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), one of the top global awards in public relations. The IABC Gold Quill Awards recognizes the best in communication management, skills and creativity across 32 categories. Humana won in the “Special Events — Internal or External” category for its efforts to celebrate the company’s 50th Anniversary, which included a number of special events and culminated with a celebration for associates on August 18, 2011 in Louisville. Two tiers of Gold Quill Awards judges carefully evaluated the entry and confirmed that it demonstrated world-class standards in strategic communication.
Humana is No. 34 on Computerworld’s 2016 100 Best Places to Work in IT, a list that is compiled based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention. In addition, Computerworld conducts extensive surveys of IT workers, and their responses factor heavily in determining the rankings.
In the Newsweek Green Rankings, companies are ranked by their overall Green Score, derived from three component scores: the Environmental Impact Score, the Green Policies Score and the Reputation Survey Score, weighted at 45 percent, 45 percent and 10 percent, respectively. In 2016, Humana was ranked No. 18 out of the 500 largest U.S. public companies and was the highest ranking health insuruer on the list. In the global rankings, Humana was ranked No. 33 out of 500 companies.
Since 2007, Humana has provided information on its carbon-reduction efforts to the CDP, formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project, an independent nonprofit organization with the largest database of corporate climate change information in the world. The data originates from responses to CDP's annual information requests, issued on behalf of institutional investors, purchasing organizations and government bodies. In 2017, Humana received a grade of A- for the depth and comprehensiveness of its disclosure.
Humana has been recognized by the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for 11 consecutive years through 2017. Humana was recognized on both the DJSI World and DJSI North America Indices in 2017 and scored the top mark among health care providers and services in areas such as responsible marketing practices and climate strategy.
Established in 1999, the DJSI were the first global sustainability benchmarks. DJSI identify sustainability leaders using rigorous environmental, social and governance criteria, such as corporate governance, social policies, environmental management and corporate citizenship and philanthropy.
RobecoSAM, an investment specialist focused exclusively on sustainability investing and the organization that evaluates companies for the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices, honored Humana with a Gold Class Distinction for our strong sustainability performance. Humana is one of only 12 U.S. companies to receive the Gold Class distinction in 2017. Humana has been designated as the Health Care Providers & Services industry leader for four consecutive years as of 2017.
Humana is a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index series, which was designed to objectively measure the performance of companies that meet globally recognized corporate responsibility standards. We first appeared on the FTSE4Good Index in September 2009.
The Humana Government Business contact call center received The Vision Award for outstanding large contact center along with the Community Service Award for active community engagement during the 2013 Boomerang Awards in Louisville, Kentucky. The Boomerang Awards are presented by the Professional Association for Customer Engagement (PACE) Kentuckiana Chapter, recognizing achievements and contributions of outstanding contact centers and contact center professionals in the Greater Louisville area. Humana Government Business previously received The Vision Award in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012.
