Urgent and complex care at home

Get access to urgent medical care in your home, or virtually, 365 days a year.

Urgent medical care at home providers are available to our members

All Humana Medicare Advantage plans include access to in-network urgent and serious care providers. One option for serious care is DispatchHealth. MDLive is an option for virtual urgent care when your primary care provider is unavailable. You may be able to get same-day immediate care at home or online to treat a variety of conditions.*

*Other providers may be available in our network.

For life-threatening or time-sensitive issues, always call 911 or go to an emergency room (ER).

DispatchHealth

DispatchHealth brings serious medical care directly to your home. You can get wounds stitched, treatment for COPD attacks, IV fluids and lab tests. A home visit with DispatchHealth typically has the same out of pocket cost as a visit to an in-network urgent care center. Here’s how it works:

1. Request a visit

Call 833-788-1366 to request a Dispatch Health visit. A team member will talk through your symptoms to check if it’s safe to treat you at home. You can request care 365 days a year, 8 a.m. – 10 p.m., Eastern time. Note: An ER doctor is always available by phone.

2. DispatchHealth comes to you

Your DispatchHealth house call team will include 2 board-certified professionals: a Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner and a DispatchHealth Medical Technician (DHMT). They’ll come with all the tools and equipment needed to treat you.

3. DispatchHealth handles the rest

DispatchHealth will call in your prescriptions, update your doctor and submit billing to Humana. Find out more on our Humana-DispatchHealth pageNote: In some markets, DispatchHealth also provides hospital-level care in-home for eligible members, including those living with multiple chronic conditions.

Telehealth and virtual urgent care

In addition to talking to other doctors, such as your primary care doctor, to see if they offer video chat or telephone-only visits, you have access to MDLIVE,® the only nationwide provider in Humana’s Medicare Advantage plan network for telehealth visits. MDLive helps you connect with a board-certified doctor from your phone, tablet or laptop if you’re sick. Common ailments include cough, cold, headache, sore throat and allergies. Here’s how MDLIVE works:

1. Activate your MDLIVE account

There are 3 ways to activate your MDLive account:

  2. Go to the MDLive online registration page.
  3. Download the MDLive app on the App Store or Google Play.

2. Choose from a large network of board-certified providers

All MDLIVE providers are U.S. Board Certified physicians able to treat a wide range of common medical health conditions.

3. Consult with a board-certified doctor
