What is Telemedicine?

Humana's two pillars of telemedicine are eVisits and Remote Monitoring with a primary focus on expanding access and delivering integrated care to our members where and when they need it.

eVisits allow real-time secure video to enable doctor visits for certain, non-emergency care; think of an eVisit like secure Skype or Facetime session.

Remote Patient Monitoring heads off small problems before they become critical. Remote Patient Monitoring is a type of ambulatory healthcare that allows members to use a mobile medical device to perform a routine test and send the test data to a healthcare professional in real time.

eVisits availability will vary depending on location and contract. Not available for all markets or plans. Humana does not currently provide a direct to consumer eVisits services at this time. Please consult your doctor to see if eVisits are available through their office.

These programs and tools are not insurance products and are not guaranteed under any contract. Humana is not required to provide these services, but makes them available to eligible members at no additional cost.
