ƗThe Humana Premier Rx Plan includes the Part D Senior Savings Model (which Humana calls the Insulin Savings Program). It provides affordable, predictable copayments on select insulins through the first 3 drug payment stages of the Part D benefit, including the coverage gap otherwise known as the “donut hole”. On the Humana Premier Rx Plan, the copayment for select insulins is the same for both vials and pens. Select insulins include all of the preferred insulins on Humana’s formulary, including rapid-acting, short-acting, intermediate-acting, and long-acting insulin vials & pens.

Be sure to check the Drug List to see which insulins are covered. You can also find your other medications’ tiers and choose a plan based on those costs. You’re not required to have a prescription drug plan, but you may face a late enrollment penalty for not enrolling when you’re first eligible for Medicare.
