How an HMO plan works

With a Humana HMO (health maintenance organization) plan, you can choose a primary care physician (PCP) from our broad network of providers to help manage your care and provide referrals. You’re covered for unlimited visits with your PCP and you can choose a new PCP whenever you’d like. Plus, HMO plans usually have lower monthly premiums and copays than other plan types.

Like all Medicare Advantage plans, HMO plans include all the benefits of Medicare Parts A and B—and most include coverage for prescription drugs. They also offer the added security of an annual maximum out-of-pocket cost limit. Once you’ve reached that limit, you’ll pay nothing for covered services until the end of your plan year.
