We help our members get the care and services they need to address substance use disorder(s).
Substance use disorder
Substance use disorders occur when recurrent use of alcohol and/or drugs causes clinically significant impairment, including:
- Disability
- Failure to meet major responsibilities at home, school, or work
- Health problems
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration,1 substance use disorders:
- Affect people from all walks of life and all age groups
- Are common, recurrent, and often serious
- Often treatable
We work with our members to:
- Help prevent and secure treatment for substance use disorders
- Provide support for people seeking or already in recovery
Covered services for Humana Healthy Horizons in South Carolina members
You can access several types of substance use disorder services, including:
- Substance Use Disorder Services
- Outpatient opioid treatment
- Outpatient withdrawal management
- Non-hospital medical withdrawal management
- Alcohol and drug abuse treatment center withdrawal management crisis stabilization
- Peer support services and Targeted case management
