Understanding Medicare Supplement plan costs
Medicare Supplement plans help pay for covered healthcare costs that basic Medicare doesn’t. Depending on your state of residence and your plan choice, these may include:
- Out-of-pocket costs such as Part A and Part B copayments, coinsurance and deductibles
- Up to 365 extra days of a hospital stay once Medicare benefits are used
- Up to 3 pints of blood as needed
- Medicare Part A copayments for
hospice care - Emergency medical care when you travel outside the U.S.

What are guaranteed issue rights?
If you qualify for guaranteed issue rights, insurance companies must sell you a Medigap policy regardless of your health status as long as you apply within the designated timeframe. And they can’t cancel your plan as long as you continue to pay your monthly premiums.
