Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan C

Plan C offers all the benefits of Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans A and B plus coverage for skilled nursing facility care coinsurance and more. Depending on the state where you live, you could get 6% off your monthly premium if you enroll online. (Discount not available in CA, CT, OH and PA).

Note: Plan C is only available to Medicare beneficiaries who were eligible for Medicare before Jan. 1, 2020.

What does Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan C cover?

Plan C covers most of the costs you’d have to pay for Medicare-approved medical expenses. It offers all the benefits of Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans A and B including:

Hospitalization: pays Medicare Part A coinsurance plus coverage for 365 additional days after Medicare benefits end
Medical expenses: pays Medicare Part B coinsurance—generally 20% of Medicare-approved expenses—or copayments for hospital outpatient services
Blood: pays for the first 3 pints of blood each year
Hospice care: pays Medicare Part A coinsurance

In addition to the basic benefits, Plan C also provides coverage for:

Medicare Part A and Part B deductibles
Skilled nursing facility care coinsurance
Foreign travel emergency medical help (up to plan limits)

Plan C coverage is limited to Medicare-approved charges. This means you may be responsible for paying additional out-of-pocket expenses if your doctors charge more than what is allowed by Medicare.
