Understanding Virtual Care for SoonerSelect members

Humana knows that sometimes, you might get sick or hurt without warning. That is why SoonerSelect members are encouraged to utilize virtual care services whenever covered and available. Virtual care, also called telehealth, can be a great way to see a provider without leaving your home.

What are the benefits of virtual care?

Virtual care, or telehealth, is the delivery of health care services through video conferencing technology in real time. Telehealth professionals can diagnose, evaluate, and treat a wide variety of common problems you may have without requiring an in-office visit.

Some of the benefits of virtual care include:

  • Convenient access to treatment from the comfort of home or work
  • Eliminates need to travel for in-office visits
  • Less time spent in waiting rooms at the doctor’s office
  • Appointments can be made on short notice, ensuring timely treatment

How do I access virtual care?

Telehealth services help you avoid coming into the doctor’s office. Instead of traveling for your appointment, you remain at your home or office, and use your smartphone, tablet, or computer to chat live, face to face, with a medical professional near you. Using telehealth services is free to use for SoonerSelect members, and prevents you from having to drive to or from an appointment.
