True! A study1 published in Journal of the American Art Therapy Association shows that coloring complex prints like mandalas or plaids can help reduce anxiety. There are a variety of coloring activities available for adults that include these types of prints.

Combat the winter blues with adult coloring

It’s a normal thing for many people to experience the “winter blues.” It stays darker outside longer, temperatures drop and it may be harder to stay active. Consider trying coloring as an activity to see if it can help you de-stress after a tough day. It may be a fun activity for both you and the one you’re caring for!
