Humana Healthy Horizons™ in South Carolina members get added benefits along with medical coverage. These extra benefits, tools, and services are at no cost to you.

Cell Phone Services

Free Tracfone through the federal program, per household. Members who are under 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign up.

This benefit covers:

  • 1 Phone
  • 1 Charger
  • 1 Set of instructions
  • 350 minutes of talk time per month
  • 4.5 GB of data per month
  • Unlimited text messages each month
  • Training for you and your caregiver (at the first case manager orientation visit)
  • Free calls to Humana Member Services for health plan assistance, and to 911 for emergencies (even if you run out of free talk time)

You must make at least 1 phone call or send 1 text message every month in order to keep your benefit.

Contact Safelink at Safelink.com or call Safelink at 877-631-2550 to enroll

  • You need to provide your Humana Healthy Horizons in South Carolina member ID.

You must be enrolled in Safelink at least 30 days to qualify for the benefit.

Example:

  • You contact Safelink to enroll in the program on August 1, 2021
  • You will not have your 350 minutes per month until September 1, 2021

GEDWorks

An all-inclusive online program for members 16 and older. Includes tools to assist students with passing the GED test.

Assistance includes:

  • One-on-one bilingual advisor
  • Access to guidance and study materials
  • Unlimited use of practice tests
  • Virtual assistance (to provide the greatest flexibility for participation)
  • Test pass guarantee (members can take the GED multiple times until they pass it)

To be eligible for this benefit you must:

  • Be at least 16 years old
  • Not have a high school diploma
  • Have a completed South Carolina Verification of School Withdrawal form, if between the ages of 16 and 18

Member pays the course fee of $125 per section, with 4 total sections, to access the GEDWorks preparation materials, resources, practice tests, and tests.

To request reimbursement of GEDWorks course costs:

  • Call Member Services at 866-432-0001 (TTY: 711)

After requesting reimbursement:

  • Humana will send you a form to request reimbursement of the GED course fees.

To submit the form and proof of purchase:

Housing Assistance

Members ages 21 and older who qualify may receive up to $750 per lifetime

Newborn Circumcision

Covered during the initial newborn stay and up to 12 months of life

Over-the-Counter (OTC)

$10 a month per member per month

Personal Growth and Development

Up to $250 annually per member for youth program

Sports Physical

Members ages 6 to 18 can have 1 sports physical per year

Vision Services - Adult

Members ages 21 and older can have:

  • Comprehensive vision exams each year
  • One set of eyeglasses (lenses and Medicaid frames) or contacts every two years
