Eye doctors don’t just prescribe glasses or contacts to help you see better. They also check for eye diseases like glaucoma or cataracts. Catching these early can save your sight as you age. Eye exams can also show signs of other health problems like diabetes or high blood pressure. These problems can be dangerous if you don’t know about them. Finding them early can help stop them from becoming bigger problems later.

Vision services

Vision benefits for Humana Healthy Horizons in Florida members include:  

• A yearly eye exam
• Eyeglasses
• Contact lenses
• Prosthetic eyes
• Eye disease testing and care

For members older than 21, benefits also cover:

• One set of glasses frames per year*, or
• One 6-month supply of contacts

* You will pay any cost that exceeds $75 for luxury frames

You may need to get approval before getting some services. This approval is called prior authorization or preauthorization.
