Enrollment and eligibilityHow to register for Medicare coverage in 3 easy steps
After you first become eligible, you can enroll in or change your Medicare coverage once a year during the Open Enrollment Period (OEP), which occurs between October 15th and December 7th.
During this time, you can switch from your Original Medicare plan to a Medicare Advantage plan, or enroll in or change your Medicare Advantage plan, prescription drug plan (Part D) or Medicare Supplement plan.
Changing to a Humana Medicare Advantage plan is easy because when you enroll with Humana, you’re automatically disenrolled from the other plan. After enrolling or switching to a new plan, your coverage will start on January 1st.
What if I want to change back to Original Medicare?
The Medicare Advantage Disenrollment Period is from January 1 through February 14.
During this time period, you can leave a Medicare Advantage plan and return to your Original Medicare benefits offered by the federal government. You may also enroll in a stand-alone prescription drug plan if you return to Original Medicare.
