Insulin Savings Program
The Part D Senior Savings Model—which Humana calls the Insulin Savings Program—is designed to address the needs of the more than 3.3 million people with Medicare who use insulin.1 The program is available with certain Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MAPD) plans and all Humana Premier Rx Plan prescription drug plans.
The program offers low-cost, predictable copayments on , opens new window through the first three stages of the Part D prescription drug benefit (deductible, initial coverage and coverage gap).* Under this program, in 2021 eligible members† will pay a maximum copay of just $35 per month for each select insulin. Covered insulin prescriptions will not be subject to a deductible or any coverage gap cost increases throughout the plan year.
While the maximum copay for each select insulin is $35 per month, some plans feature copays as low as $0 per month. See the Summary of Benefits and Evidence of Coverage for each plan for specific copays.
“Select insulins” include all Tier 2 and Tier 3 insulins found on the list of covered drugs for each participating MAPD plan or prescription drug plan. They include at least 1 each of rapid-acting, short-acting, intermediate-acting, and long-acting insulin vials and pens.
