Hearing coverage for members 20 and younger

To stay healthy, children should have their hearing checked regularly from birth through age 20. Hearing services are part of the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) services children with Humana Healthy Horizons® in Louisiana coverage get.

Coverage for members younger than 20 includes:

  • Hearing aids
  • Hearing exams
  • Hearing tests, if prescribed by your doctor
  • Medical exams
  • Health education

These exams make sure that children are:

  • Healthy
  • Developing physically and mentally

You may need approval from us before getting some services. This preapproval is called prior authorization.

Coverage for members 21 and older includes hearing exams. If you need hearing services that we do not cover, you will have to pay for these services.
