Louisiana Medicaid: Disaster support

We’re here to support you during public health emergencies or disasters.

Help when you need it

During and after a disaster, we help make sure our members get the support and resources they need.

What we will do

Humana Healthy Horizons® in Louisiana will:

  • Cover services at out-of-network hospitals and other medical facilities
  • Give members the same cost sharing they would get at an in-network doctor
  • Make replacing lost prescriptions easier by removing refill limits
  • Share information about the disaster and what we’re doing on the specific state’s News and Alerts page
  • Stop the need for primary care physician referrals

Timeline for support

We will work with you to make sure you are covered during the duration of the emergency or disaster, and offer this support until:

  • The president, governor, or secretary of Health and Human Services has declared that the disaster or public health emergency has ended
  • 30 days have gone by since the disaster or emergency was declared, and no end date was given

Plan ahead
