We offer our members access to several quality enhancement programs, and you can learn about them

Behavioral health services
When you or your family members need a place to turn for mental health and/or substance use issues, our behavioral health services can help
Complex care management services
Humana Healthy Horizons in Louisiana members may be eligible to get complex care management services if they:
- Experience multiple hospitalizations, and/or
- Have complex medical needs that require frequent and ongoing assistance
Disease management program
We designed our disease management program to help you understand and manage specific health conditions/disease(s)
HumanaBeginnings
Taking care of yourself while you’re pregnant will help your baby have a healthy start. Through HumanaBeginnings™, our pregnant and new moms get the care they need.
Community-based programs and services
Children’s program
We can:
- Refer you to children’s programs in your local area that help prevent health problems and give early healthcare services to families with children ages 0 to 5
- Work with your primary care physician to help keep your children healthy
Domestic violence program
Your doctor should check for signs of domestic violence at your yearly visit. You can get educational information from your doctor.
Family-planning services
You can get family-planning services:
- From your current doctor, or
- From any doctor that offers family-planning services, and
- You do not need approval ahead of time

Pregnancy prevention program
We can refer you to community-based pregnancy prevention programs that you can use, no matter your age, gender, pregnancy status, or parental consent
New medical treatment
Sometimes new treatments:
- Work well
- Do not work well
- Have negative side effects
We:
- Track new medical research and
- Use this information to help us decide to add benefits and services to your health plan
If you think a new medical technology or treatment might help you:
- Tell your primary care physician, and he or she will work with us to see
- If it can help you and
- If we will cover it
